If you ask me, it was better than the slow as fuck pacing of the anime. This arc already kinda took long to get things going, and the anime managed to make it worse.

Is it bad that this screencap kind of dissuaded me from picking up the manga? I mean, I know that it’s pretty much the same art style as the anime, but these pages seem really cluttered to me.

It was awkwardly paced and had a shitty main villain, it was also the first opportunity for the Straw Hats to show off their awesome new powers, we learned more about the history of the prejudice against fishfolk, and Luffy challenged Big Mom, who’s terrifying. How is that boring?
