“Mom!”
“Mmf,” Dash mumbled.
“You’re embarrassing me, Mom… I’m almost 6. This isn’t fair.”
Gently, Rainbow sat her daughter down on the soft ground. “You’ve had a long day, A. We’re just heading home.” She gave a reassuring smile to her youngest.
“Everyone can see us though, Mom! Why can’t we just walk?” Astra let out a snort.
“It’s faster if I take you like this. Besides, who cares if they look? They’ll know how much I love you!” She gently pressed her nose against Astra’s.
Astra’s cheeks flushed red in embarrassment. “Mom!”
Dash gently grabbed the scruff of her neck and began to walk home, where the rest of their family was waiting.

Astra will probably start riding on Dash’s back once she’s a little older. For now, she’s too small and very squirmy. She’s the runt of the family! She has those infamous pegasus genes that make pegasi super short and tiny. This is an evolutionary trait to help pegasi in flight, so most pegasi are pretty short anyway- she just happens to be extra smol
Dash is super protective over her baby. More than any of her other kids, which they all kinda notice. Astra wishes her mom could leave her alone once in a while, while Thunderbird often gets pretty jealous about the lack of attention. Greywind is way too chill to care at all tho
Rainbow’s colorful genes really shined through in Astra. Greywind and Thunderbird both have monochromia, which they probably got from some recessive trait in Dumbbell’s bloodline. She’s got lots of purple hues and is definitely the most colorful of the three Dash kids!
Astra’s “weather” alignment isn’t really too clear like her other sibling’s. She guesses it has something to do with clouds…? She’s not really sure. The trail she leaves when she flies is galaxy-like and sparkly, but an alignment with stars is considered royal… so that can’t be her, can it?
She’s not that much younger than her older siblings (who are twins), maybe like a year or 2 younger, but she often gets mistaken as many years younger cuz of her size.
Dash calls her precious baby Astra “Azzy,” and the nickname gets picked up pretty fast by others around her
