Really though, my headcanon is that changeling can’t feel each other’s emotions, and they have to be able to feel another’s love for them in order to develop love of their own. So they are capable of truly falling in love with other non-changelings, but not each other

Being sentient creatures, I assume they can feel love themselves, but they cannot feed on the love they have for eachother. They must feed on the love of others.
