I guess the confusion comes from the picture not entirely depicting that there even is a relationship here. It would be illogical to argue otherwise. Yes, I know the definition of lesbian.
 
That being said, when I removed the tag, I was not trying to start a tag war, but rather was confused on the basis of the ‘word’ TwiDash. The implication of the word was that the 2 were depicted in a picture. Nothing more. I was wrong, and I see that now. I do believe the tag is relevant to the picture, but not because of the picture itself. It is relevant because of the description (title) on the DA, and nothing more.

Incidentally, a LOT of the comments on DA seem to be about how much they like this ship, how they’re using it for TwiDash fanfiction, and the artist isn’t contesting any of those comments. The name of the very image is “TwiDash”. So it’s definitely shipping, and it’s definitely lesbian.

Well solo female shouldn’t be on sfw images per the tag description, but I see it tagged more on safe images than the images where it really belongs, go figure.
 
But yes, that is 100% true what the tag lesbian means here. I see people question it all the time, but it’s clear as day, same with straight, and and same with gay, it only describes what relationship(s) are in the image.

They seem to be under the assumption that “lesbian” is more of a “naughty” tag than, you know, a tag for sexuality. Kind of the same argument for tagging “solo female” on SFW pictures, I guess, except this issue is a LOT more clear.
 
Two mares in a relationship? Lesbian. Two girls fooling around? Still lesbian. No matter the image’s “safeness”, two mares in a relationship is ALWAYS lesbian.

I added the lesbian tag bag. If you want to contest it, contact a mod, don’t change it.
 
Frankly, I should have done the same thing, but I only just checked the tagging history. Let’s not turn this into a tagging war.

Why exactly does lesbian not need to be included? It’s two mares in a relationship, seems pretty gay to me.
 
We have implied tags for a reason.

Then if it’s meant to be twidash, the shipping and lesbian tags are relevant. Lesbian tag does not mean ‘these two ponies are doing very nsfw things’ it just means it’s a lesbian ship, nothing more. Either all or none belong.

That itself is debatable, since the artist called this “Twi-Dash Flare” on his/her DA.

I think the lesbian tag was an automatically added (by the system, called an “implied” tag) because the tag twidash was added. It does not need to be there though, you are right.
