Taking a Self-Insert Too Seriously page 1
Alt page title: A Literal Impression
*facepalm*
I really am addicted to self-inserts. And I’m the one taking it too seriously. This is a new low for me. :ashamed:
This has been taking up space in my head for longer than I care to admit, so the only options were to let it fester and think “what if?”, or create it. Honestly the hardest part was building all the vectors from scratch while trying to recreate the poses from the FOB Equestria videos. At first I wanted to make them show style, but I quickly changed my mind and decided to make my own style. I didn’t count how many times I watched the “No Second Prances” and the “Parental Glideance” reviews to get the poses I wanted, but I’m sure it’s an absolutely ridiculous number for each, especially the latter.
At best, it’ll be seen as charming. Or cringeworthy. The latter outcome is why I decided to make all 7 pages worth and post them all at once, so the other 6 don’t fester forever in my head if page 1 got rejected. I hope you enjoy it! If not, well knowing is better than not knowing.
I’m a big boy, I’ll get over it. Personally, I’m just glad to get this blasted project out of my brain at long last. But never again please brain. No more self-inserts with another person’s author avatar if I can help it. Not counting my brother, or someone else who actually knows me. something something parasocial something or other
I will admit I laughed at my own jokes a bit too much while making this. More than a bit, actually. Including this one.
This would probably be set before the teaser video for The Shattered Wilds DND campaign, considering the security and defenses aren’t in tip-top shape yet.
And you may be wondering, what episode will be reviewed? None. This is not that in-depth. I’m not a review or analyst. I don’t know the first thing about bronalysis. So this whole comic is just going to be the gags that happen outside of the actual reviewing. I don’t even have any episodes in mind. Never did.
Having said all that, you may be wondering, “J, what made you think this was a good idea?” Well let me tell you, “good” is a very strong word :dummy:
