Ohh I like that one. Where’s that from?
“The child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth”
This is all true.
Although it is fanon, it is clear that the absence of the background story and motive for Cozy Glow is like a hideous disease on the MLP, as her age and her fate are some of the most grave mistakes ever made by writers behind a TV series meant for children. It was a very big mistake to make her a villain, because the shock effect can be very disgusting if there is no background and a logical follow-up - which never came in S8 and S9. Possibly the idea was that Cozy Glow could be rehabilitated by learning about her motive and background instead of the very superficial statement in the meeting with Twilight who failed to invest in the fact that a child could have become so dangerous. This is completely cut out and destroyed, so that she becomes one big question mark.
If the S10 continues, Hasbro and IDW should join forces to sweep her completely out of the way so as not to have a shameful spot on the G4 of MLP. Whether Hasbro’s management should read this; make sure to give Cozy Glow a good fate and then get everything about her out of the mind and opinion of future fans of My Little Pony. We can only hope that the writers behind the G5 in the future will not make the same mistakes as seen in the last seasons of G4. The treatment of Discord, illogical twisters, the embarrassment of authority figures, the case of Cozy Glow, and the fate of the Terrible Trio in S8-S9 have left very dark spots on what could have been a perfect ending.
Cozy Glow is just a child, she was unable to understand the consequences of her actions, could not cope with her mistakes and was too single minded with her ambitions and plans, her murderous behavior was just an outcome of her inner insecurity. All she wanted was to be accepted and considered by others. No wonder Tirek and Chrysalis were the subject of her attention, as she felt better secured with like-minded people than others.
Tirek with weak self-confidence ended up being a bully who wants to prove himself to his arrogant and demanding father. Cozy Glow here as a fan character wants to make up for her insecurity and loneliness by making herself invaluable and important so she will not be overlooked. Chrysalis has not yet come up, but I think she will develop strong enmity, distrust and fear of friendship, while at the same time she will secure her people by all means. She become a monster because of other monsters.
