Description
Simply put, I know there’s no kiss on the lips nor declaration of “I love you”, and that they often reiterate the phrase “best friend”, but I find that to be far more because of limitations imposed by Hasbro than because the writers didn’t want to. The overall special is loaded with romantic connotations, the blushing, the body language, the hand holding, the lyrics to the ending song, even the shots are often presented in ways that are often used for couples. That’s without mentioning how the whole arc between them plays a lot like a romantic one.A third party comes into play that captures the attention of one of them, prompting the other to become jealous. The jealous one then realizes the third party is not trustworthy and tells their love interest as much, but this causes the tension between them to escalate further, only for the truth to shine right after and the would-be couple to make up and finally get together, reinvigorating each other in order to save the day.It’s a classic formula used for romance.I know the way it’s played, it can be read as just a platonic relationship. I’m aware there’s nothing that makes it explicitly romantic. But I simply find it way too far fetched that all the romantic connotations thrown in there are just a coincidence, and I firmly believe that it was all intentional. That if they could, and weren’t oppressed by politics and other metrics, the writers would totally canonize Rarijack in the most unquestionable manner possible.

You’re correct. That type of arc isn’t always used in romantic situations. But most of the time it is.
@Marusame
that’s right but you can not make everyone happy
i noticed it right away, me and another reactor (raritydash) noticed it and said the same thing that AJ is a jealous lover.
I do not know if they also noticed in a moment the way in which rarity looks at Valencia and blushes causes more anger in Applejack
@Marusame
I think you made some pretty good points.
pictures showing lyrabon got simular hate and has since been canonized like 7 times over.
It’s pretty clear the writer and storyboarders put the two in a romantic relationship, at the very least to tell this story. THAT cant be denied whether they bitch wine moan or not.
I’m right there with you, buddy, but boy are there homophobes and just party poopers wanting to deny the presence of anything in this special…
It serves as a good comparison as to what IS and ISNT a lesbian relationship dealing with the age rating of the show and the limits they have.
OOOOOOOOOH!!
