Lauren Faust said that’s how you spelled his name and it stuck. The card doesn’t have it though. I think it makes it unique.

I never understood why there’s an apostrophe on the end of Soarin’, it just doesn’t look right for a name. Of course, it’s a shortened version of Soaring, but you don’t put an apostrophe when you write Mick instead of Mickey, for example.

Unrelated to the drawing…I guess tag implications change “soarin” to “soarin’” which is the tag that displays but typing “soarin’” with the apostrophe doesn’t do that…so I guess his tag should be typed as “soarin” without the apostrophe each time you tag him even though it displays as something else. I’ve fixed that for you here ^^;
