Did nobody notice the pun?
He sure seems to care given the fact that he goes on these rants several times a year it seems.
Practically everything you’re saying here is self-contradicting blathering.
Have you considered that he MAYBE just doesn’t give a rat’s ass about people like those two down there?
And as far as I know, a lot of people have enough manners and are mature enough to give a rat’s ass about his work anyway even if he doesn’t bow for them and vindicate himself for what he writes.
if he expects anyone to gives a rat’s ass, he oughta have a good one.

He doesn’t owe you any explanation of his work.

So basically you should never say something bad about what he does, every, anywhere.
@CMC Scootaloo
If you’re trying to pull some “morally superior” or “you’re just a bully” crap here, reminder that you’re Mr. “DHX made Equestria Girlds objectively hideous”.
I’m not doing it on his Twitter and never have. I have seen others get blocked for sharing constructive criticism, though.
As for this site, I can say whatever I want about him within the site’s rules.
I’m the one giving him my money in theory. He has to justify it to me or I don’t spend money on it. He isn’t entitled to my money or respect, and I can say whatever I want about him in the right spaces and he can’t do anything.
In all honesty, if I would be a popular writer like him and someone would have the gall to come to my Twitter and tell me how I should write my comic issues because there were ideas in past issues he didn’t like, then I would block him too.
You really have no right to complain about it that he blocked you when you walk up to him and basically tell him that you don’t like his work because of reason this and reason that.
I don’t think you realize how rude it is to do that and to believe that he has to justify his own work to you.
So you do consider the possibility that he’s reading them after all. Thanks.
That’s really all I wanted to know.
This. I genuinely do not care how he feels about me not liking him. Why should I when no matter how one tries to critique him he insists that it is invalid and blocks the critic?
I don’t give a shit if he reads them or not. He’s an adult, and a professional writer at that; if some rando calling him a bad writer on an imageboard makes him mad or sad, he has issues. That I don’t care about.
So you think everyone who did an effort to deeply analyze his issues (or the official comics in general) instead of going by the first gut feeling when judging their quality is “mindless”?
The ones who complain about the first thing they don’t like, instead of doing thoughts about it if this thing that they don’t like has maybe a purpose for the plot of the comic and is needed for it, are the ones you consider mindful and the ones who do those aforementioned thoughts and actually analyze the plot and then find out that this one thing they were wary about first is actually a good thing for the plot and makes really sense, are the ones you consider mindless.
Judging the quality of an issue by the first gut feeling = Mindful.
Deeply analyzing the plot of the issue to actually understand it = Mindless.
That’s basically what you’re saying here.
The ones who have put more thoughts into an issue and developed an understanding of it are the ones who are mindless? Yeah, that’s a really screwed up logic you have here.
Other than that, to answer your question, yes, it’s those “mindless” people and only those “mindless” people he should pay attention to, cause they actually have grown to understand the issues he wrote, unlike the people who don’t even care for understanding his issues and only want to complain about them for the sake of complaining.
@The Smiling Pony
So, what you want to say is, that none of these hateful comments about him were written by you in hope that he do comes here and reads them, or at least, hears about it that someone said such things about him and then feels bad because of that?
You are absolutely sure this isn’t the intention behind your remarks about him? Cause I have a hard time believing this.
If those underhoofed comments are not meant to hurt him, then why are you writing those instead of, if you really have to criticize something about his issues, do it in a mature and respectful way?
Sorry, I wasn’t expecting you to be sarcastically exaggerating something you believed in. And considering yesterday someone was sincerely questioning Jim Miller’s qualifications after a simple brain fart in writing a tweet…
‘duh, of course it’s ludicrous.
Do I really need to have [sarcasm] or [having a lark] tags implemented on the site?
He forgot a quotation mark in a tweet. There’s plenty of justifiable criticism that one can make of Jeremy Whitley’s writing and of his desire to make Flutterdash official, but claiming that mistake calls into question his ability to write professionally is beyond ludicrous.
@Background Pony #B22D
Oh hey, did they also replace the two OC cameos that Bobby Curnow said shouldn’t have been allowed and that he’d have removed if the issue got reprinted? Wait, why did I just waste 30 seconds typing that?
If you want to criticize people for shitting on stuff, please stop shitting on EQG. It makes you look like a massive hypocrite.
Stop bastardizing the term “bullying”; all you’re doing is watering down the meaning until it means nothing. Someone on a site he will never visit expressing a dislike over his work and statements is not “bullying” by any sane definition.
So people who mindlessly praise him are the only ones he should pay attention to?
He is creating and therefore he is an artist. That’s the only definition that it needs.
If you like what he creates or not is not important for this definition and if you’re just shitting over his stuff for the sake of shitting over it, then it’s nothing that he needs to take into account.
And frankly, all you do is hating on him based on shallow reasons and bullying him, so there’s really nothing in your statements that he must or should pay attention to.
He has better things to do than listening to someone whose hobby it is to bully artists based on their dislike of their work and there are people who actually value and understand his work and his attention is in better hooves with those people.
Well Hasbro has to approve everything in the comics, so he can’t do anything without their consent anyway. And he was suggesting the show should do it first, so it would have to be the show writers deciding to do it. He can’t affect the show on his own.
The opinions of people with the power, or intent, to affect something generally matter to the people interested in that something.
Like if I said “people shouldn’t be allowed to post anon on derpibooru” on my blog, it’s “just my opinion”, but you know damn well it matters a bit more than others for that topic.
Look, I’m not trying to start shit over anything, I’m just calling you out for behavior I find to be hypocritical. Maybe you didn’t attack the staff, but you still attack other people for liking it and give rants about how you have much better taste than everyone else and that out opinions are wrong, and you’re always trying to get your own “hatefix” over the franchise, which isn’t nearly as bad as you seem to thing, heck, it isn’t even bad. I don’t want to argue, but you need to have some self awareness. I’m just trying to help, even if I’m not going about it the best way.
No, this is a thought-crime. We have to get mad!
Calling Whitley an artist is setting the bar for that term a bit low tbh fam
