Mivera’s tale continued. Digging into the ancestry that has led to the curse that haunted this family.
Of The adventurous, yet competitive spirit that drove her ancestors to constantly try and one up each other. to proove each other worthy of the family name. This adventorus arms race that eventually led the family to tire of conventional tresure hunting, and started to dig deeper darker places.

“They brought their findings home with them, to translate and study. And what they found was magic, ancient beyond recording. The poor devils must have thought it the first spells of ponykind. Perhaps the very origin of magic as we know it. Not until much later would we learn that it was not even of this earth, but from beyond the stars.
“In a world where magic is plentyfull they though no more of it, and tried to recreate it”.

Tatzl spawn is another pact entierly. In fact, All of our family members were born as normal ponies to pony parents. No one suspected anything at first.”

Also - these aren’t Miveras parents. they would have to be at least her Great grandparents. This shit goes back generations.
One of the 3.X suggested origins on warlocks. My other favorite was “Some demon was watching the material and gave someone with anger issues the power to make heads explode completely freely, just to watch the fireworks and inevitable descent into madness.”
the three ponies at the top work well. I understood they were from different time periods right away.
