As much as I love Discolight, but Twilight is acting Out of Character here, she is aromantic in my view, and Discord is absolutely even more aromantic.

I just saw the movie two days ago on demand. There was no romance. There was a scene that came close to that but it was the Pirate Captain dreaming about the prize and Cutlass Liz was finally accepting him as a pirate. The only “romance” was his relationship with Polly his dodo and Charles Darwin wanting to get a girlfriend.

That’s it, I’m making up my own explaination as to why all this stupid shit is happening.
 
This is all a part of an illusion caused by Discord to prevent her from interveaning while his followers break him out of the statue. This explains her obsessive behavior towards him, all the OOC moments, and everything else in general. I’ve also set up a story way more compelling than anything cartuneslover could come up with.
