Not really, as the Dex subplot from the end of the first game is unresolved as of the end of the second game.
“Better dead than Red”
(a phrase ironically invented by a left-wing magazine, as they mocked a businessman who had mandated morning prayers in his factories to help keep out “dangerous ideas”)
I don’t think there is much of a sequel possible. I mean the story is pretty much complete in SR2.. unless we have them go into another city and do the same thing all over again..
@Pagan
Likewise, and although I liked SR4, what I really want is a proper sequel to SR2.
Me too it was my favorite of the franchise.
Awesome. I’m glad someone else remembers that game. I loved it so much xd
Yep
Saints Row 2 !?
Mr. Sunshine: “It’s beautiful.”
One zebra wrote a message about what was to come on the walls of a prison cell and ultimately the message was never seen before the war ended. What if a message like it appeared in the distant past? Maybe they knew what would happen and why, that because of a star falling the world would eventually be brought to ruin. Maybe they forgot that they were also part of the equation, that maybe their efforts to stop it led directly to a self-fulfilling prophecy. After all, Pinkie did the exact same thing all the time, and her ability came from… zebra based drugs.
Pinkie pie as a zebra, basically.
Truer words were never spoken. With all that said, I do like how the zebras paid just as heavy a price for their superstitious nonsense. I do love watching Xenith cry. :)
At least Equestria winning wouldn’t have lead to a repeat of the Dark Ages; dystopias tend to collapse, it’s quite a bit harder to come back from a nuclear apocalypse followed by a religious cult taking over the remnants.
Not so much evil as desperate and superstitious. They honestly believed that megaspell annihilation was preferable to Equestria winning (and I’m not so sure they were wrong). If that sounds insane, well it is. It’s also based on very real sentiment on both sides during the Cold War.
That and they probably wanted to eliminate anyone who could paint space as a good thing.
Actually, that’s pretty simple. Maybe they, like humans, abhor betrayers and will go for guaranteed short-term satisfaction over possible long-term gains.
Honestly, I was just confused why they did what they did to her. Not so much the morality of it, like I said, zebras are monsters and there aren’t really any redeemable qualities to them in FoE, so that makes sense. I’m confused why they completely incapacitated the being that GAVE them their weapons and could probably have developed means to counteract their long term detriments so they could save themselves. What, is it like Warhammer where they despise technology by default, or do they really just want to live in mud huts worshipping Xenu for all eternity?
@Barhandar
The only reason their apocalypse happened first was timing, there were six ways the world could have ended and balefire was harsh but fair (in that nobody won and given time the world would eventually heal as intended)
Monsters, yes. But none as bonebrainedly stupid as the Betrayer.
@Background Pony #8C5F
Admittedly FoE protagonists are about as stupid. Here is the individual single-handedly responsible for dooming Equus to nuclear waste, let’s restore their ability to act.
There were plenty of monsters on both sides.
You mean Fluttershy? Oh my yes, that was INCREDIBLY stupid on her part, so much so that I wondered if she was legitimately opposed to Equestria and just wanted to tip the scales.
