When it comes to comic, my policy is to just take what you like, make some arguments to glaze over the weirder stuff, and just ignore the actual errors. So, I can enjoy it.

As a Sparity shipper myself, this honestly doesn’t bother me much, since it’s the comics, which so far seems to have a bunch of trivial ship teases tossed in, not to mention the whole supposed epic romance between CelestiaxAUSombra. It’s most likely that Mina, as with most original characters for the comics, isn’t going to show up at all in future issues anyway. Oddly enough, I sort of want her to though, what with her basically being a representation of manic shippers, it’d be fun to see what nonsense she’d go spouting off if she tagged along with the group.

Were not gonna do the age/model discussion again. spike is a whelp/dragon-ling. word of god stated what she imagined the ages of the mane 6 to be.
 
word of god made it a point to point out that while very similar, our worlds are different, including what is socially acceptable behavior. this is a world of NUDISTS.
 
that said, the ambiguity of alot of things allows those with active imaginations to run wild. our community happens to be made up of ppl that believe in the power of love(or conflate it with the power of amazing snu snu). we all know the power of love/friendship can conquer all.
 
shippers (in my mind) celebrate and explore the ideas of love and friendship in ways the source materials cannot or will not. remember, the MST3k mantra. remember that the tagging system is your friend. remember, were all suppose to be Ohana/Nakama. ^_*

That is a non-argument. That is discarding a valid, logical argument based on something unrelated. And yes, it is unrelated. The fact that certain elements of the show do not, cannot be directly corroborated in the real world does not mean one can willy-nilly toss aside all semblance of logic to force something to fit one’s own preconceptions. Looking at the logic of the show, Rarity is decidedly unlikely to be anything less than a young adult. The fact that she’s a cartoon does not negate the show having mostly-consistent internal logic that can be used to determine these things, and you have neither the right nor the ability to dismiss this logic because some other things don’t fit real-world logic without even almost contradicting the in-show logic. That is a major fallacy and only serves to undermine any argument you can make by suggesting you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about or even how to make a proper argument. You’ve ruined your own shot at any credibility.

From the pages this looked more like some sort of run of mill furry/scaley story than the sort of Spike’s quest for more dragons story I’d have envisioned…

Does she actually own the shop herself? I thought she just worked there. Either way though, age if you’re factoring in dragon lifespans makes her a much better match just going by that alone. Not to mention species!
 
Not that people aren’t gonna ship what they ship even if it’s hardly viable. I’m just surprised this took this long to pop up personally.
