I wouldn’t exactly consider Metallica a “yearly album” band. They’ve put out two studio albums in ten years: St. Anger in 2003, and 2008’s Death Magnetic (three if you count 2011’s Lulu, which is really a Lou Reed album).

Now if this were the early-mid 80’s or mid-late 90’s you’d be closer.

Just because an artist doesn’t shit out an album every year doesn’t mean they’re inactive (Skillet, for example, took from 2009 to 2013 to produce a new album). His last studio album was in 2009, last single in 2011, and has an album slated for this year. He’s a “one man band” like Trent Reznor or Alanis Morissette, which affects production rate severely. he’s also a touring motivational speaker, he runs an award winning nightclub, was a TV show host for a (horrible) Cartoon Network game show, guests on countless TV/talk/cartoon shows… The guy is busy as fuck. And I’d rather he take his time and have a low amount of quality albums than have him turn into another “Madden 20XX” of music like Metallica and many other “popular” bands have become.

As for style commentary, I’ll simply go with “to each their own.” His style is a fusion of punk (not RAtM trash) and hard rock (not to be confused with metal) as far as his songs that generally get exposure go. If you want more traditional rock, try his album “Close Calls with Brick Walls”.

Doesn’t seem really active honestly for a person of his status. And I never said I didn’t like his music. Actually I don’t if you want to know. Yelling, shouting and banging your head isn’t really my idea of ‘good’ rock music.

Are you kidding? He attended Canterlot Gardens in 2012 and said he might be interested in doing a MLP:FIM based album. Otherwise, he’s still active; his last album was in 2011. And I dunno what’s wrong with you, but his music is a lot better than most of what passes for “rock” these days.
