You do realize, and not being snide either, that tags can be edited at any time by anyone. Even you can change tags around, unless you don’t care enough about tagging and just tag the bare essentials and make it where the rest of us add in tags that may/may not be related, which some don’t mind doing but it’s not our job to make sure proper tags are given either. But this has strayed too far from course of discussing the image and better left sealed in history as we don’t need a mod or assistant to come in and say something.
Can you use that though on images that are already tagged “shipping”?

Yeah, like I said; far too late to do anything about it now. Even if I did somehow manage to convince everyone to adopt my way of thinking, there’d still be hundreds of thousands of images tagged using the old system.
Might be able to start a new tag though… how about “tag:maybe shipping” for images which could easily be interpreted either way?

Being it that it was a background pony who added the shipping related tags, they probably thought it was shipping.

Unfortunately that doesn’t fly here, but you’ve been around long enough to know about proper tagging procedures so that’s not a worry.

Artist intent comes first with tagging.
Eh, I’m more of a “death of the author” kinda guy. I prefer to let the images speak for themselves.
Depends entirely on the artists intent of it. Someone could misinterpret it being shipping when it’s just 2 sisters enjoying each others company, making the tags up for changing at any time. It’s a good picture regardless, just speaks so many different volumes.
That’s true of almost all cases where the “shipping” tag gets used. Makes the tag pretty much useless for filtering out ships, but unfortunately I think it’s far to late to do anything about it.
