Eh, it’s not bad, considering how few kirin we saw and the ratio of male->female that the show usually has. There were only 12 kirin shown in all, and 3 of those were male, so 25%.

There was only one male kirin in the episode. But yeah, every kirin in this play were female. And one of the females was playing the male lead role.

Another thing, Applejack referred to that one kirin who was trying to speak as “they.” Maybe she can’t tell either?
Well, the phantom in Autum Blaze’s play is supposed to be male. The character, that is. So, the concept of a male kirin at least exists. Though it should be noted, every single kirin who spoke sounded female.

Every kirin in the village had a female character model, interestingly enough. I dunno if they’re actually all female or if they’re all just really androgynous.
Oddly accurate to reality. When you realize in the olden times Theater was mostly males playing female parts. xD
