There’s an AMA (ask me anything) by WayForward going on at http://t.co/Yf9sfs0dcH to help spread the word about Shantae HD.
One of the WayForward guys just said this. You heard the man: make it happen, people!

Or at least nowadays unfortunately. :(
Personally, I’d love to see a MLP:FiM game done like a puzzle/action/platformer game along the lines of “Donkey Kong ‘94,” (Gameboy) or Goonies 2, (another good licensed game) or something.
Maybe have a beginner’s mode for younger fans to play through an easier version of the game, and a harder mode for the older bronies to enjoy.
@Itsthinking
To be fair, studios like High Moon and Telltale do some really good licensed games nowadays too. Speaking of High Moon, Hasbro went to some lengths to make sure their Transformers games didn’t suck, so maybe they put that same consideration to MLP, and who better to give it to than WayForeward? A company who already proved their worth before.
Yeah, they’re the only licensed company that cares.
Who knows? Though, stuff like internet petitions don’t really work well usually… So I don’t know if there is a way unless Wayforward themselves approach Hasbro to do it, or something.
I’d hate to sound close-minded, but I’d be disapointed to hear any other gaming company handle MLP:FiM. Most other licensed games nowadays sadly aren’t that good, or half-assed. (Though, of course, there are some rare good licensed games, like some of the old TMNT games, the N64 Disney Tarzan game, the old Capcom Disney games, and some others. I even liked Nintendo’s old DK-ish “Popeye” NES game. That’s right Nintendo made a licensed game.)
Wayforward though, seems to be one of the only ones nowadays that actually makes “good” licensed games, and doesn’t just half-ass them like other companies.
We’ve got to find a way to verbalize it to Hasbro.
Not always true, some games like Duck Tales: Remastered was only released on the console systems due to the HD. (I admit, I got a li’l sad when they said it’s not coming to 3DS.)
Believe me, I want a “Wayforward-made” MLP:FiM game to be done to as much as you… That is now my dream come true. I must add, I liked Shantae, and Mighty Switch Force. (Got MSF when it was on sale in the 3DS Eshop for 2 bucks off.)
WayForward usually only does things on handhelds. Again, no clue where to take this. I want it to happen so badly but I don’t know how to verbalize it to the people who can make it happen.
Who knows? WayForward if they want to do one that badly, could possibly approach Hasbro/DHX to make one. Though, considering some past MLP games on home systems don’t sell that well, (I still see copies of “Pinkie Pie’s Party” for DS at the store for 10 bucks) don’t get your hopes up to high. (Though, the MLP:FiM “Sim City”-style app game seems to of done well.)
Also, please let it have a 3DS version, as I don’t own any of the other “modern” consoles.
The thing is that I have no clue how to communicate to Hasbro in the way they say is needed. Maybe they realize that there’s a market for the game now and they’ll license the franchise from Hasbro themselves?
Agreed, they did a great job on the “Adventure Time” game, (which was almost like a successor to Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link in some ways) and the “Duck Tales: Remastered” remake. (Even got some of the original voices in it, including Allen Young as Scrooge, and the guy is in his 90s!)
So them handling MLP:FiM would be awesome, if they’re fans of it, as well.
Also, BUY “Duck Tales: Remastered.” They said if it sells enough, they might be able to do more remakes of classic beloved Capcom Disney games.
(C’mon, people, we need a “Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers: Remastered!” Maybe with 4-player now, with Monterey Jack, and Gadget playable like NewSMB.)
WayForward knows how to handle 2D platformers, and their specialty is licensed games that are good.
Having seen the animations of some aborted brony projects, a platformer could definitely work. Hope they remember that Pinkie’s actually stronger than AJ and faster than RBD, but only on straight-aways.
Hasbro Interactive doesn’t exist, I think it’s Hasbro Games now.
Oh god, PLEASE.
Now to tip off GoNintendo…

Ahh. Cool.
These guys specialize in licensed games, as in they’d go through Hasbro “properly”.
Yes, but this will be an official game. So Hasbro can’t shut it down the same way.
A rising game company that has made a few under appreciated classics and is slowly gaining a noticeable following like Bioware.
WayForward is a game company, who usually make platformers like Shantae and Mighty Switch Force. They also make some really damn good licensed games like Aliens:Infestation, Adventure Time, and more recently the remake of the NES Ducktales game.
It’s WayForward
