Murrison’s comment? “The current direction and writing crew on a nutshell.” So you’re saying that characterizing the writing crew as interested only in brony pandering and not in “deep characters and solid writing” isn’t an insult?

That’s only the most recent example I know if. I can dig up others if need be.

So long as he keeps his word on the matter, this could be the end of most of the twitter-related drama involving the show.

Just because somebody has a disability, that doesn’t mean that they should be given special treatment when they are assholes.

@SeraphimDawn
I’m almost certain he doesn’t. If he were to judge an entire fandom by a few highly vocal ducks, he would have completely cut ties with us years ago.

Murrison never insulted anyone, his opinions sure are without any polite sugarcoating true, but he doesn’t attack Jim personally. He’s statements are basically “the quality of the show is unsatisfying for me” and such.

I think, Jim realised that the person might be slightly autistic so it would be very unlikely he would ever block him.

If that’s true, it’s bye-bye Murrison, who can’t go a half-dozen tweets without saying the staff are incompetent or apathetic.

Apparently, he says he’ll block people who personally attack him, the staff, or other fans. Also people who pester him incessantly about points he feels he’s already made very clear (I think Spike fans will need to tread lightly).

He’s fine with criticism so long as it’s constructive and not “That was the worst piece of shit EVER! Kill yourself.”

Ah, it’s Miller’s interview that makes clear that he contributes to the story and script. Yeah, there’s still not much information on how much input Miller has in the writing (or, for that matter, how much input Haber has in the animation), but it’s at least a bit more than I was assuming, and possibly significantly more. And (going back to my original reply to RektPony) I don’t see any evidence that Haber’s just a figurehead who puts his name in the credits while Miller does all the work.

Haber gets significant input from Miller

I don’t know how much the two actually collaborate in the sense that (I think) you’re getting at here, but from Jim’s most recent interview:
So I’m still involved with all the stages of the production; giving notes on scripts, being present at voice and song records, discussing how we envision the songs with Daniel, overseeing the design of the show with the art director, guiding the board artists and reviewing and revising the finished boards, reviewing and giving notes on layouts and animation, cutting the show in the edits, reviewing and giving notes on the sound effects and score and the final mix. It’s a ton of work and I (and the other directors) are with the episodes for a really long time.
I suppose the main difference is now I oversee not only the episodes I’m doing, but all of them in the entire season.
I do have to opportunity to give notes on scripts as they come in
Sometimes, I would give writers some notes, but other times, it’s simply better if the story editor does all of the work. When you’re on a tight schedule, you can’t wait for the scripts. Whether it be waiting for notes or edits or changes, it’s kind of easier for the story editor to simply finish up the work.
It’s usually different with each show, but with MLP since it’s a freelance show, the story editor has a hand in nearly every episode.
But if you’re a story editor, then you have to write everyone else’s stories, in a way. You sit in on the (voice acting) recordings and comment on those, and comment on the animatics. Basically you are a producer in that case because you have more of a hand in the pot.
…So I’ve probably overstated Haber’s part in it a little in that he’s not involved in quite as much of the process as Miller is; I wasn’t trying to say that they were both sitting in adjacent chairs for all of it or anything like that– understandably, both were only talking about their own part in the production, not necessarily about everyone else there at the same time– but it seems highly unlikely given the many different steps they’re both closely involved with that they wouldn’t be doing a lot of back-and-forth.

@TexasUberAlles
I’ve gone back over the posted interview, and didn’t read anything that made me think Haber gets significant input from Miller. It could easily be I’m just overlooking it; could you point out where you get that impression from? (I’d link the article in question, except true BPs can’t post URLs.)

@DaKurgan
Not that they would let us.

@RektPony
No, I’m pretty dang sure Josh Haber’s in charge of the writing. Miller might be helping him out with characterization/continuity/details since he’s been around from the beginning, but then again he might not; we really can’t tell, looking from the outside in.
RektPony

He was never directly affected by criticism since he was just a fish and a helper of Thiesson.
Now he is a main director and most likely run the show by himself with Haber just being credited. Every criticism is going to affect him personally.
