Canon is in quotations for a good reason. And they knew Fluttercord would trigger some people so they removed intimate scenes (well kissing and the like) between the two to avoid starting a fanwide conflagration.

Personally I prefer RariDash. This is a ship that’s endorsed by Ashleigh Ball, so that’s probably the reason it got made “canon” I hate Fluttercord too and prefer Dash with a long mane and not Spitfire’s mane.  
Overall not the worst finale (Ending of the end has that beat) but I like to pretend it never happened and that RD is pansexual/bisexual.

I never said I’m “the fandom”. This is a discussion over something that happened in the show.

Oh I have absolutely nothing against shippers or the showrunners. If anything, I feel horrible that the showrunners partically ones who worked on TLP and TEOTE are getting death threats for something as simple as a cartoon finale. I also liken it to the whole Galardex/Dexit controversy with Pokemon Sword and Shield, I still enjoyed the games despite many favourites being absent and I would never dream of hating the game or threatening Junichi Masuda and his family. In fact, in the beginning, AppleDash was my favourite ship. But… slowly as other ships took form some becoming canon and others having differentiatimg opinions than myself I started wondering, why I never found Rainbow as 100% straight despite Faust trying to avert the stereotype. It’s shippers that take it too far like this OP, and expect you to take tease as fact. As for the evidence like the staring and stuff that was in the script we have a right to question the authenticity of that as fans. We’re not saying worst finale ever, we’re saying the creators shoehorned a relationship that only had a little bit up tease. I’d honestly be more upset if Rainbow x Soarin was canon because I loathe that ship. I can see the chemistry but it’s just not my thing.

Because if we dont ask questions, just consume the product we wouldnt really have much thoughtful discussion in this fandom. The show runners decided to force in something that shouldnt be there, and the fandom is reacting accordingly. It’s made worse when shippers behave obnoxiously like the OP and claim something is canon based on a sliver of evidence from something about as credible as citing The fucking Onion.

You all choose that you needed to complain about a little bit of shipping fule. It’s so sad, would this be any other ship, most of you wouldn’t act that way or be already shut down as homophobe. Just look at people claiming rarijack canon, they usually don’t have to deal with that much bs. Do you all feel better for telling people it’s not canon? What do you gain by it? You made it this way, not the show runners.

I believe also in an interview with one of the EQD staff when asked how she would end MLP, she said marry Rainbow and Soarin or something. I don’t have any direct sources but it should be somewhere on Equestria Daily.
