The first US jet fighter was the P-80 Shooting Star

The first jet ever was the Coanda-1910 from 1910. It has a Thermojet, that’s a Hybrid of a piston engine and a jet engine. The compressor was propelled by the piston engine instead of a turbine. The Campini-Caproni C.C.2 was another Thermojet propelled plane. It was build in 1940

the Heinkel He 178 was the first Turbojet plane

I don’t think you know the Kill ratio with Me262’s with P-51’s in games they make it unrealistic due to it being ‘‘op’’ so people dont bitch about it, and another thing is the BF-109 is slower and would get out turned by the Me-262, even in War Thunder.

I’ve played my share of wwii aircraft simulations aswell as seen some ME262 aircraft in air shows and I have to say an Messerschmitt BF109 E can wreck that thing easily, so just mount some machine guns on derpy and don’t worry.

“German engineering… pah!”
The planes came too late in the war for them to have a real effect on it. The Allies already owned the sky, and they also had their own jet fighters in service shortly after the Me 262 was introduced. Though the Allies used their fighters to counter the V1 rockets rather than in missions over Germany and occupied territories.
