I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile, but here’s Star Thistle’s father Rowan Rune.

Nickname: Rune, Rowan, Annoyance Personified(by Star Thistle behind his back)

Personality:Serious, stern, proud, cool under pressure,stubborn
 
Likes: Coffee, classical music, cloudy days, quiet walks, salty snacks
 
Dislikes: crowded spaces, being corrected, mint, disturbances, ponies who slack off
 
Rowan Rune is the vice chairman of Canterlot’s wizards council and often represents the wizard council’s interests. Like most wizards he does own a hat and cape, but finds them frivolous and only wears them during events and for formalities. Rowan has had a heavy influence after he completed his spell “fulgur crepitus” which creates a form of offensive electricity with a minimized risk of shocking the user. He has dedicated his life to magic and has no plans to retire in the nearby future.
 
Despite his current situation with his son Rowan still cares deeply about Star Thistle and is in some way relieved that he didn’t become a wizard. He won’t say it and he hasn’t come to grips with the latter, but his son is still his pride and joy no matter what happens. Rowan Rune is very defensive about those around him and would fight tooth and nail to protect them.
 
At the moment Rowan Rune is a single parent, he lost his wife while she was away on an excavation. There was a cave in and she sacrificed herself in order to protect a colleague. After that his serious nature increased exponentially and he poured himself into his work. His rift with Star Thistle most likely would not have come to fruition if his wife was still alive and he is acutely aware of this.
