At the time S1 Ep 5 aired Celestia hadn’t made a lot of appearances compared to The Mane 6 characters; She only appeared in one out of the first five episodes outside of the theme song intro. Fluttershy was/is in every one of those episodes though. But what does this have to do with it?

Except she didn’t nearly kill Celestia.

1. That sounded so damn retarded I think I lost a few brain cells just from reading that on your comment.
 
2. BG ponies are characters in the show who half the time aren’t even given a name or just ones with names but hardly ever shown. Celestia and Luna definitely do not count as BG ponies.
 
And 3. If you really think Lyra of ALL characters in the show should be a main character just because of head-canoned theories of her knowing about the existence of humans..heh..welp..

Well what’s more important too you huh? Celestia getting overpowered by Chrysalis and nearly dying in the process, or Fluttershy getting bullied by Gilda who is simply low-tempered and has a punk-like personality.

ok, Celestia beaten down wasnt nice but still she’s like a goddess ! Meaning she can handle some fights against bad guys sometimes. If she get down, well that’s sad cause that mean the villain is more powerful than her and we’re kinda screwed or somethin…

I didn’t get an “afterthought” feeling regarding the whole feeding her kind, tbh, and I wouldn’t think it’s possible to call her a tyrant as we haven’t seen how she rules over her subjects. Anyways, Chrysalis gets fans because people like villainous females, aggressive women in power, that sort of stuff. She also has a pretty neat design and good voice work.

I never understood why either Gilda or Chrysalis have fans.

Either way, you are now officially an alien to me.

The main reason I hated Gilda was how she was as a character, nothing special just a one dimensional bully that was created just to annoy people.

I just think its that the people that go head over heels for fluttershy are more common (and thus have a higher likely hood for being stupid) than those who do the same for Gilda

It involves her not being a pony, but she’s also a criminal.

Despite being a raging Flutterfag myself, my dislike for Gilda has nothing to do with that scene. I just don’t think she was particularly well written.

Pinkie’s machine was pedal powered with no complex controls in evidence. Gilda had every reason to believe that it was as simple as pegasus flight.
 
Grabbing the wing of a pegasus in flight would have been uncomfortable, but wouldn’t result in a fatal fall.
 
To be honest, I’m actually not sure how Pinkie Pie ended up that out of control. When Gilda grabbed the wing, she should have been able to just stop pedaling, which would have stopped her from spinning.
