After about a week of brainstorming, my RaraJack family story is finally out! I hope I did alright with writing them as gay and coming out, since I don’t really have real-life experience with this topic. Feel free to let me know if there’s a better way to write this! From left to right: Rara/Coloratura, Pristine Melody (Mel), Acapella Apple (Pelly), and Applejack.

Here’s how their family came to be:

After reuniting at the Helping Hooves Music Festival, Applejack and Rara got back in touch. They wrote letters frequently, and even visited each other whenever they had the chance. Rara changed her style of music because of Applejack, and was happier because of it. Indeed, they were happy to be friends again.
After a couple years of writing letters and occasional visits, Rara injured herself after falling off the stage at one of her shows. She was forced to take a hiatus from her career to recover. As soon as she heard the news, Applejack volunteered to take Rara in and give her some classic Apple Family TLC.
Over time, Applejack and Rara grew closer as friends. Since they didn’t have much else to do, they spent their days catching up on the past, contemplating the future, and just spending time together. That’s when they realized they had more in common than they thought.
One day, Applejack came to the rather sudden realization that she was developing feelings for Rara. She had often caught herself daydreaming about her voice and her eyes, and always wanted to spend time with her. Applejack was filled with fear and questions. Since when did she like mares? How would Rara react? How would her family react?
Around the time Applejack came to this realization, Rara recovered from her injuries and prepared to go back on tour. The two parted, and Applejack was left heartbroken. Now there’s no way she would ever love me, Applejack thought to herself.
After Rara left, life returned to normal…kind of. Applejack continued her work on the farm. She also continued to spend time with her friends. But deep down, she missed Rara tremendously. She tried to hide it, but her family knew something was off.
That’s when Granny Smith decided enough was enough and called a family meeting. Applejack knew she couldn’t keep lying to herself, so she came out to her family. Surprisingly, they were very supportive of her. While surprised at first, their love for Applejack didn’t waver in the slightest. Granny Smith even told Applejack to go find Rara and tell her how she feels.
And so Applejack set out to find Rara. After lots of searching, she eventually found Rara at a concert in Manehattan. After the concert, the two caught up on recent events and Applejack admitted her newfound feelings. To her surprise, the feeling was mutual. That night, Applejack and Rara became a couple. After Rara finished her tour, she and Applejack returned to Ponyville and got married. They had a simple wedding that was soon bombarded by paparazzi, but they were happy to be married.
After a couple years of marriage, Applejack and Rara decided to start a family. They didn’t know how two mares could have a child, so they consulted Twilight. Twilight told them of a spell that could create a foal that shares both parents’ genes. Thanks to a little alicorn magic, Applejack became pregnant with their child.
After 11 months, Pristine Melody (Mel for short) was born. Applejack and Rara loved their child, as did the rest of the Apple Family. Everything was right in the world for the new family.
Applejack and Rara lived happily with their daughter for a few years until they decided they wanted another child. After all, they both valued family and wanted more than one foal. They consulted Twilight again, and this time Rara became pregnant with their foal.
Nearly a year later, Mel became big sister to a sweet little filly named Acapella Apple, or Pelly for short. As she grew, it was clear she wasn’t as social as her sister, but the family loved her all the same.
After a few years, Rara resumed her career and went back on tour. Applejack was left to raise the girls mostly alone, and they allmissed Rara terribly. While Rara loved her daughters, she couldn’t bond much with them due to her career. Eventually, Rara decided she couldn’t keep missing out on her family, so she retired and went home for good.
After that, Applejack, Rara, and their daughters have been living a happy life together in Ponyville. At last, they are all together and they have little a care in the world. For them, life is good.
