It’s secretly a friendship games joke. But it fits to the “I’m out of goals” thing as well. :)
It’d be like a clumsily linked addon slotted in by a combination of retcon and a plot device/NPC signpost (yes “Guild Wars: Eye of the North” I’m looking at you!)
