There’s currently no indication in the show of Soarin and Dash being anything more than friends either. A male and female character can indeed be just friends, and so far that appears to be the case.
With that in mind though, it’s not any closer to ‘real shipping’ than any other characters interacting. Feel free to headcanon whatever, of course.
