@Trickquestion In the first season I got the impression that she didn’t really want to be a goddess princess. She wants to be treated like a normal pony. The only times she doesn’t give that impression is in serious and/or formal matters where she needs to compose herself as the princess.  
My theory as to why she doesn’t just hand off the crown to some other pony is she has a “Needs of the many before the needs of the few” mentality. She would love to run away and be just another pony, but she knows Equestria needs a wise, just, and compassionate ruler. Luna might be able to do it herself, but she’s Celly’s sister and has been alone for 1000 years. It would be wrong to abandon her.

Is it just me, or did Celestia seem a lot less Godly in Season 2?

Is it wrong I want to move to some place that has active Church of Latter-Day Saint missionaries just so they can knock on my door and I could convince them that I am not interested in their religion since I have my own, Celestianism?
