Pony stink they make no sense they’re ugly I hate Ponyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Alel

They laughted at how Spike kept writting Rainbow Dash’s autobiography wrong, it wasn’t mean spirited at all. It just looked like that because Rainbow Dash was paranoid.

Talking wasn’t enough to stop Applejack (In AS) nor Twilight (In LZ), and by the time they did stop (Thanks to exhaustion and Celestia respectively) they had caused a lot of damage; Rainbow Dash from the get go was saving lives, wich means that one screw-up would be one screw-up too many. It’s because they were her firends that they realized it could end badly, while the rest of the town just let themselves get carried away; they had to act.

Mare Do Well being a hero and Rainbow Dash being a hero weren’t mutually exclusive, that’s just what Rainbow Dash assumed. Neither did Scootaloo stop admiring her, there is a reason why she went to invite her without cosplaying as MDW like the other fillies; thinking that MDW was the greates hero doesn’t mean she stopped admiring Rainbow Dash for being Rainbow Dash, as the scenne before the opening showed.

The episode was about Rainbow Dash looking at things the wrong way. Fans taking her at face value are missing the point.

Dude, what are you talking about? Dash’s friends HELPED Dash, without them interfering, the Ponies of Ponyville would have blamed Dash for the deaths and injuries and damage which would have happend cause she on her own wasn’t able to prevent them unlike what she told everypony.
Just look at the dam, the construction accident, the cart full of ponies going straight to the cliff (why the fuck is such a dangerous cliff right next to Ponyville/In Ponyville anyway?). Without Twi and co Dash would have failed those heroic acts and had to deal with the guilt of being blamed for deaths, injuries and whatnot.
So all that happend was that she “lost” her fame, nor her reputation, just her current fame which got hyped by the media. Cause lets be honest, RD did more amazing things than saving a baby to be worth of an own fanclub.
Same with the other Mane6 ofc.^^
RD just couldn’t handle that she wasn’t the hottest piece of candy in town anymore. MDW never tried to do anything competitive or to bath in praise etc. She went, saved the ponies and was gone. RD was the one who turned it into a competion which made her a creep who tried to find an excuse EVERYWHERE to get some fame/praise from others/from strangers as if that means everything in her life. I mean, she even did that embaressing thing with the glass of cucumbers! That was like Lesson zero crazy already! >.<

I was only defending her actions from the first episode, not Magic Duel. And when would you expect an actor or a stage magician to step up and be a hero in a real crisis? Nobody would really expect Stallone to be able to turn back the Soviets no matter how many movies he made.

Then she failed completely at putting her money where her mouth was when shit got serious, which got all her possessions destroyed. After running from the town, instead of working towards a worthwhile goal, she saved up for an ancient mind-raping artifact and tried to take over a village where the country ruler’s protegé and six most important homeland defense assets live (genius!), only to get beaten again on account of her massive ego, which probably saved her from complete obliteration at the hooves of a pissed Celestia.

Master of Trade / 10, would take advice from.

I retract my previous statement, apparently there are Trixiefags able to defend her behavior.

Yeah. She has a show to put on and hype is part of the game. And she didn’t call anyone out until they started booing her for no reason. They showed up, caused a disruption, and she dealt with them like any good stage performer deals with a heckler. By embarrassing them for the amusement of the audience.

>If they wanted to help, why didn’t they talk about it first?

Because that worked so well when AJ refused to get help, right? You know, ‘cause she was so stubborn she wouldn’t accept help, so why would Dash – who’s WAY more stubborn – accept anything her friends said? It would’ve led to nowhere and maybe even caused someone’s life because they were to busy arguing with her.

>Why creating a stupid plan and mask as a new hero instead of just showing who they really are?

Because then the lesson of “your actions are more important than who you are” would be moot. Dash’s main problem in the episode was getting praise at everything, so much so that it hindered her rescues and waiting praise even before she tried to rescue anyone. MDW was there to save the ponies, not for the attention, which was the point of going in disguise in the first place. Not to mention it took 4 ponies to match 1 Rainbow.

After taking the time to think back on her actions, – which were focused on grabbing attention and not on performing heroic deeds – Dash was strong enough to admit that she had gotten carried away. The episode “The Mysterious Mare-do-Well” was about Dash needing to tone it down.

The girls saw what Dash was heading for and tried to curb her behavior because that’s what friends do. They don’t simply leave nor do they try to make you someone you’re not. They bring you back to who you really are.

That was not an insult, but a statement of a fact. Every main character so far got their crazy episode or two. Applejack got Applebuck Season, Pinkie got Party of One, Twilight got Lesson Zero, Rarity got Sweet and Elite, Fluttershy got Putting your Hoof Down etc.

But ONLY Dashfags defend the unreasonable behavior of their favorite pony in said episode.

If they wanted to help, why didn’t they talk about it first? Why creating a stupid plan and mask as a new hero instead of just showing who they really are? It would have made a big difference if they would have done either talking to Dash or saving ponies without dressing up as a hero.

We could keep up this discussion forever without a result. You either like that episode and/or the Mare Do Well plan, or you don’t like it. I accept your opinion on that episode but I nevertheless think that talking to Dash would have saved them all a lot trouble and pain.

@Justy

I knew sooner or later some troll would appear and start to insult others because of a different opinion. Your first sentence is a reason why many harmless discussions end up with insulting others.

Since I don’t want to turn this harmless discussion into another hate discussion, this’ll be my last comment on this topic. Have fun insulting others

Dash wouldn’t have had a problem with what they did if she didn’t put being the center of attention before helping people. She nearly let people get hurt because of her ego, and the other stepped in and picked up her slack.

You’re an absolutely rabid Dashfag. An extra “hero” in Ponyville would never bother her if all she cared about was helping people and not building her personal cult.

Anypony is allowed to be a hero. I just meant that Rainbow’s friends were the only ones who had a problem with her being in the centre of attention. If they thought Dash was bragging too much, then good friends would have talked with Rainbow Dash. However, instead of that, they just made up Mare Do Well.

We already know enough about Ponyville to say that “being in the centre of attention” will only last a short time. It happened with AJ because of being a good friend (Applebuck season), Twilight (after things like the Ursa Minor or saving Winter Wrap Up), Rarity (her fashion show), Pinkie Pie (saving Ponyville from the Parasprites), Fluttershy (becoming a model) or Dashie (Sonic Rainboom). It never lasted very long, so why would have this be different?
The other mane six should have just waited a day or two and maybe talk to Dash. That would have saved them a lot trouble and it wouldn’t have hurt Dash’s feelings.
supermanhulkjesus

@Tirek
Only Dash is aloud to be a hero, and the others should have stood back and did nothing to spare her feelings? If she hadn’t put being the center of attention before helping people it wouldn’t have bothered her.

You’re wrong, they did humiliate her. Instead of just talking with her, they made up a new hero and outdone Dash every time when someone needed help. As the Element of Loyalty it’s only natural that Dash always tries to help others. However, when the others made up Mare Do Well - who can sense the future (Pinkie), fly (Fluttershy), use powerful magic (Twilight) and has a strong body (AJ) -, a hero who’s better in everything Dash can do.
Ponyville quickly turned away from Rainbow Dash and no one cared about her anymore not even Scootaloo or the other pony she saved when the construction collapsed. Dash was all alone and was feeling useless. Is it really that wrong to expect some loyalty toward Dash from her friends?

If this doesn’t count as humiliation and punishment then what does? The other mane six didn’t even try to talk to Dash. And before someone says “she wouldn’t have listened to them” I can tell you that AJ in Applebuck Season didn’t listen to Twilight until everything went wrong.

@Kamazeustra

Do you remember the sentences like „Everything you can do, I can do better” or “the most magical unicorn in all of Equestria” or “only the Great and Powerful Trixie has magic strong enough to vanquish the dreaded ursa major” or “Or is Trixie destined to be the greatest equine who has ever lived!?”

It doesn’t matter that telling tall-tales has a tradition. Trixie was bragging, lying and humiliating AJ, Dash and Rarity. Dashie was only bragging without doing anything bad but that didn’t stop the other mane six to outdo her without talking to her first. What they did was horrible and something friends shouldn’t do.

Bragging and lying? She tells stories and does tricks for a living. Telling tall-tales has a long tradition behind it. If they hadn’t heckled her for no reason, nothing would have happened. And why would Twilight punish her for lying during a stage performance?

That doesn’t change the fact that Trixie was bragging and lying. However, although Twilight would have easily outdone her, she ran away.

In other words, a stranger won’t get a punishment but Rainbow Dash, one of Twilight’s best friends, has to be humiliated although she even saved the life of a pony. And then the other mane six were so happy because of crap they did and even laughed at Rainbow Dash.

No matter how strong Dashie is, I’m 100% that she was more than just sad and hurt because of this and I wouldn’t be surprised if she even cried into her cloud pillow that night.

The Trixie thing. They brought that on themselves. Trixie is a performer and being able to humiliate hecklers and keep control of an audience is a necessary part of the job. Just watch some Jimmy Carr or Patton Oswalt videos for examples. And she isn’t responsible for Snips and Snails being idiots, either.
