No, they just need to have a human upper-body connected to a four-legged horse body at where the horse’s head should be.
They’re also the children of Ixion, king of Lapiths, and Nephele, a cloud in the shape of Hera because Zeus got jealous when Ixion lusted after her and made the cloud Hera to trick Ixion.
Because Zeus isn’t just a horndog who’ll bang anything, he’s a hypocrite when someone else wants to bang his wife.

Yeah it would’ve. Then it’d be a centaur with hands instead of hooves at the end of it’s horse legs. Which would be more horrifying than hooves! And Malachite is supposed to be horrifying!
