To be fair it was Scootaloo who came to her and wanted to join.
Dusty already told her before that the Washouts ignored the Wonderbolt safety rules.
And it was perfectly clear what stunt Scootaloo was supposed to do; even Twily and Dashie went along with it.

I like the idead of Dusty becomming friends with Glimmy.
Then she can mediate between her and Dashie.
Yeah but she ignores someone when they have reservations about what she’s trying to make them do. Then makes them feel bad about backing out. Not to mention that she has no problem endangering the life of a child without a care
Only volunteers.
There are reasons why her teammates and friends look up to her.
