I’ll go with the second. The movie rushed through a lot of scenes and plot points that needed more time and suffered from it.
 
While I still liked the movie, it felt more like one of the two-parters.

The first one was rank with pacing issues. We didn’t have any time to bond with any of the characters, except maybe Scorpan.
 
It really needed another five-ten minutes to flesh it out…Or maybe cut out the pointless songs that dragged on and pretty much added nothing.

What, seriously? Ugh. I don’t want to think what they’ve done to the most recent Mister Terrific then; for years he was one of my favorite DC characters precisely because he had a realistic amount of angst rather than the insane levels demanded by (I presume) the editors.
