Imagine how disappointed he’d be when he finds out he’s got it backwards and still has to figure it out the hard way. The only good the cutie mark will do him is let him know that he knows and stop him from second guessing himself or wasting time on something that’s already settled, but even then cutie marks are a huge Achilles heel for a variety of reasons (no matter how much the writers try to hand wave them).
