if you play 7 I have a tip that I literally could not find anywhere on the internet: stone harpies are immune to all forms of magic.
I seriously had a magic sword that is a guaranteed one hit kill on everything else and the armageddon spell and they did nothing but then I punched it and it went down in two or three hits.
Also, you probably already heard it from the spoony videos but the ultima underworld games are worth a look if you want to see the origins of games like the elder scrolls
Hmm, maybe I should check it out sometime then.
Ultima 1’s mostly grinding once you get past the interface.
The only other ultima I’ve play substantially is 7 and the best comparison with a modern game I can come up with is skyrim but with mouse driven controls, better writing and worse combat.
Combat’s not too much of a hassle though because of the several hilariously overpowered items that pretty much break the game as soon as you start.

All my knowledge of Ultima is from Spoony’s videos.
I tried playing Ultima I on DOSbox. I was confused.
I have never played Ultima… I don’t know why I never did.
