Gated communities are all about keeping out people of different economic status, which critics allege fosters a paranoid ‘us-versus-them’ mentality in the inhabitants that contributes to racist attitudes. People like Rubio appear to favour this by riding the coat tails of Trump who essentially proposes to build the largest gated community in the world through his border fence. And who is a living example of racism stemming from class isolation himself.

It’s funny, though, how Spoiled Rich dislikes “blank flanks” so much that she taught her daughter to despise them.
 
Headcanon: the term “blank flank” is only really used for ponies who are late in acquiring their cutie mark. Spoiled Rich apparently associates that with being lazy; in her mind, if a pony really applied herself she would’ve found her cutie mark already. So, “blank flanks” are lower-class, and therefore beneath her and her family.
 
Diamond Tiara’s heel/face turn came about when she realized that the CMCs really were hard-working ponies, not the shiftless bums her mother claimed they were.
