And so, with their newfound purpose and mastery of musical special effects, the CMC set out to take the world by storm!

The episode didn’t have enough time it wasn’t a two parter so I think they handled pretty well.
I was so happy when that part happened I couldn’t stop cheering.
It’s yours for just the price of an arm and one of your eyes.
This economy, am I right?
Exactly this. Even if some moments fell flat to me, it is still a beautiful episode. You could have an opinion, but that doesn’t automatically make you right.
WHERE’S MY HOVERBOARD?!
I know exactly what you mean. But to hell with those people. Never let anyone talk down your opinions. Not online or in person.
And yeah, songs and animation are always fantastic in these episodes. And the va’s do their job well. But nothing is perfect and people are more than entitled to talk about what they feel they didn’t like.
Does not liking something that conflicts with another person’s views who see only ‘perfection’ mean you hate all good things, despise the CMC, hate the show, and are just generally a cancer on society? No. Unless you’re tumblr. (I kid, sorta)
But I still comment here and on EqD. Though I don’t frequent that place since I prefer being around those who appreciate story and depth. Character analysis and just generally have fun doing good natured back and forths over what is back what is salvagable, and possibilities going forward.
This episode was aimed towards fixing Diamond Tiara’s image in the fandom of super ultra sensitive people who can’t tell fantasy from fiction and project far more than is healthy towards wanting to rape and kill a foal just because she calls ponies names with her friend. They only see what they wanna see, so I doubt those particular people will change.
But yeah, I genuinely enjoyed this episode. But as a lover of stories and one who enjoys consistency in a universe, there are parts I didn’t enjoy all that much. But what can you do in 22 minutes, you know?
This was an amazing 5th anniversary gift for all Diamond and CMC fans. Even if some of us wished for more intelligent and consistency in the universe of MLP.
But whatever. I can enjoy a show and love this episode even if it took the low road for the simpler crowd. Yeah, that last part was me being condescending to those arrogant blowhards who try to shove words down ones mouth or shutdown any opinion that’s not their own.
Nice to see I’m not alone in all this. Never let those idiots shut you down. Ever.
Beats me.
That’s odd then, why were they blacked out if they’re insignificant?
No, those were just some of the kids Dt was trying to blackmail.
If you start your argument calling the person “dipshit” you are just asking for negative replys.
I personally did like it but I understand why some didn’t. What I do absolutely hate, which has been prevalent in this fandom from day one, is the “you can have an opinion yes, so long as it’s the right one” mentality. Mostly at EqD where they’re arrogant enough to think they decide what’s “in” and “right” regarding the show, and if you dare not stay in line and agree that “oh, this is great” or “oh, this sucks and should die” then you are crucified by a handful of commenters that seem to be there 24/7 with nothing better to do than treat people like shit. Looking at you, Texas*********, for one, which is why I never comment there anymore.
@Telaros
Another thing blacked out on the season five poster along with the CMC are three foals to the left, who might end up being the next generation of the CMC.
I think DT redemption was a seperate thing from the CMCs cutie marks. If we do get CMC adventures, it will be CMC only. I feel like this episode was more or so writing DT out of main plots and keep her in the backgroud as a static character. But yeah, only time will tell.
The fact that he’s being so aggressive about it isn’t helping his case either, let’s be fair.
I just want more adventures with the CMC and DT and SS going off doing awesome things. The five had the most attitude and rivalry going. Now that potential rivalry or tsundereness feels threatened. Like, we finally get some Filly 5 implies in the episode with Diamond’s five pointed crown dropping each light onto each one.
I just hope we get more adventures with the five and the rumors that I hope this episode squashes of the CMC being replaced next season (which seem impossible now at least, thankfully) turns out to not be true. Hence why I’m going to the source.
i’m confused, okay! I love! And yet I hate it! I lote it? I don’t know!

In MMC, the cutie marks were changed because Twilight’s spell changed their destinies and true self. It wasn’t a cutie mark swapping spell. The song makes it a bit confusing, but a lot more than just their cutie marks were changed.
In The Cutie Map, it’s almost certainly the additional equal sign that was nerfing the ponies to the bare minimum in abilities, not the removal of their cutie marks.
And you are saying this like its a bad thing.
At least someone bloody gets it.
And no, there is no consistency. It’s whatever the plot demands. Now they don’t have to ‘waste’ multiple episodes adhering to brony demands to give the CMC their cutie marks already. Diamond Tiara gets redeemed. And now CMC get to do Cutie Map Rainbow Power adventures next season because they’re secretly alicorns who failed to explode this episode but still got infused with each others magics.

Well you sure are taking this well. :)
Your other complains hold credence even though I don’t agree. I’m here to educate you on Mary Sues.
A Mary Sue is a character with no interesting character traits with an overt amount of focus who gets everything they want with no effort. The Cutie Mark Crusaders pursued their goal for a long time, suffering for it, dealt with bullies, all the while achieving and learning so much about themselves and others along the way.
In the end, when they came to a conclusion about who they are and what they should do, they all got their cutie mark. It didn’t just fall from the sky. It didn’t just happen out of nowhere. They earned those marks, just like Twilight earned her wings for going from an antisocial introvert to a paragon of friendship and leadership.
You choose to see the toy plugs. You choose to see what you define as Mary Sues. If you value your enjoyment of this show, then you need to stop that.
