It’s not so much about the ideas being thought of, but of what can be done with the thoughts; how they can be expanded upon and molded to create something to show to others. Even if others can think about it, it takes genuine skill to be able to give that idea form; to give it life. And that’s something you are not only capable of doing, but that you’ve done time and again with outstanding results. And if some ideas don’t quite work out? Well, you just learn a way not to do things, but sometimes it’s about the experience, and other times you can come back to it and approach it with a different train of thought.
 
And maybe that train will reach the station it’s meant to reach; a destination only you know, and only you can be satisfied with; a completed project to present to others that can impress, and inspire.

Yeah, I’ve had a lot of ideas in the past, and I never acted upon them, either because of laziness or simply being incapable. Eventually those ideas have presented themselves as existing things, created by other people who got the same idea and DID act upon them. Do I wish I had? Maybe, I could be more well-off than I am now, but it’s too late now. Just means you should try and make as many ideas a reality as you can.

Exactly. It’s one of those things where deep down you want to be like “that idea is MINE!!! I invented it!” even though it’s totally not and I totally didn’t. Though I remember someone telling me once that every idea has already been thought of and all that matters is doing an idea well instead, and that’s what I try to keep in mind when I do things.
 
(Though it won’t ever stop me from trying to do new things. That’s half the fun of this)

Speaking of, so someone pm’d me a while back and was like “do you read the Monster Girl Encyclopedia because they stole your idea” and they had a picture of a monster called a “Humpty Egg” that was basically a human version of this:

Well I take one look at it and am like “there’s no way they actually did it’s just a coincidence.” What I’m getting at, though, is you ever been in a scenario like that and there’s that little arrogant part of your brain that wants to be like “Yeah. I created that.” even though you 100% know it’s totally not the case?
