I don’t really pay much attention to wrestling anymore. Kind of grew out of it by high school. Still, I did watch this match and I was pretty shocked. The Undertaker, for all intents and purposes, is a total boss and I really expected him to win. It was likely the first time in ten years that I really got into a wrestling match again.

Also, pertaining to the Undertaker again, he’s the shit. I don’t care that he’s like a jillion years old in wrestling age or whatever.

Also also, completely unrelated but I’m a Bo-Liever. Why? He’s adorable.

I love how Heyman rubs that in every chance he gets.

“Knock knock”
“Who’s there?”
“Mike.”
“Mike who?”
“My client Brock Lesnar broke the Undertaker’s streak.”

I’m a little disappointed that the streak had to end in such a slow-paced match, but I’m thankful for the awe-inspiring matches he brought to us in the years before 21-1.

But what really got to me was rewatching Ultimate Warrior’s speech on his final Raw appearance. It’s almost as if he knew exactly how much time he had left… ;_;

And the spirit of Ultimate Warrior will run FOREVER!!!

Now that I’ve had time to think about it, I can think about all the logic they put into this, how it was time for someone to break the streak and how Lesnar, despite being a part-timer, is enough of a badass and has a good enough manager to handle the pressure of being the guy to break the streak, all that over-thinking stuff…

But when that 3 count happened, my only thought was “But he’s The Undertaker. He doesn’t afraid of anything.” It was like being a 10 year old again, a purely emotional response to a moment in wrestling.

It was shocking, but the good kind of shocking; shock that will sit with you forever.

In short, it’s about a wrestler named Undertaker. The guy has been wrestling for the WWE since 1990, so it’s a guy that most wrestling fans grew up watching, and don’t remember a time before he was around. And he was undefeated at Wrestlemania (think like Wrestling’s Superbowl, their biggest show of the year). He won 21 straight matches. But this year, the Undertaker’s streak was finally broken, and it was one of the most shocking moments in wrestling history. Also, it was likely his final match.

This was a wrestling event where the Undertaker was finally defeated after a 21-0 win streak, which had become known as “The Streak”. Fans went crazy when it happened.
