There is still the matter that Lightning Dust didn’t really give a damn that she nearly killed several ponies.
 
I don´t think she realized that at this time. She felt bad about it later (BEFORE she was kicked out).

I don’t feel sorry for either of them. Lightning Dust nearly got four of Equestria’s heroes killed (I don’t count Fluttershy since she can fly) and Wind Rider framed Rainbow Dash (and nearly got her kicked out of the Wonderbolts reserves) so he could keep his stupid record.
