This is true. Midnight Sparkle isn’t some spirit possessing Twilight. She’s her own Negativity. Her Greed and Lust for magic, Or in the case of my headcanon, for revenge.

I think midnight sparkle is considered shadow twilight because her obsession with magic could be based on sci-twi’s repressed thoughts of understanding magic and in a clip in the fourth movie, she claims to be part of twilight and resides in the shadows, like in persona 4(if you know what it is)
