I’m sad that I never tried to go through with learning Japanese in college, I learned enough to start learning individual words in kanji, but never finished, oh well, at least I have tons of anime, manga, jrock and jpop out of it. :d

It’s okay, neither am I. I normally sit there for a while, if there is no sudden idea that strices me after seeing something. And even then I still sit for a bit thinking, I’m never sure myself, after I just got an idea. It’s good to write it down immediately, but just sit there and rearange it a bit. That should help.
 
If you know more than one language, it should come easier, especially if they have significant differences. That is, if one switches often between them while using them in day to day conversation. It kind of trains the feeling for the flow of sentences, if one just talked with ones mother in Russian, between reading a book in German and talking to people online in English. It’s confusing at first, but it can help a lot.

I don’t want to dismiss your addition so easily, but that’s not really compatible with the last two lines about Bon Bon looking angry because Lyra didn’t bring up the courage to ask her and didn’t notice her ever standing up, in the whole thing. She was watching her for over fife hours after all. Like always. Like the creepy stalker she is, when she “wants” someone to approach. People just think it’s some weird watching and being watched thing, that they like to indulge in.
 
As to the pg of the follow up, you didn’t mention what she exactly did to get that money. So it should be okay, but don’t quote me on that.

And so when Lyra finally got up the courage to get up and go ask her friend to dance, she walked right into some solid that felt like walking into a wall.  
“Ow! What the hay…?”  
She said while rubbing her forehead.  
“oh! Sorry Lyra! I was just finishing up with two customers before hitting the dance floor, hehe, gotta make some extra money when ever I can!”  
Lyra looked up, but could only see her friend resting her hands against what could have been a guy standing next to her, and suddenly holding some cash in the other hand…  
“see you next week then carl?”  
“hehe thanks for the compliment Phil! Yup! Next week then!”  
Lyra just sat there on the floor unsure what to say  
“any how Lyra, ready to dance?”

Lyra knew what the others were saying about them. She didn’t mind of course. … It was just stupid rumors, invented by the jealous and kept alive by the perverted. Because they were just the best of friends, nothing more.
 
Of course. There was nothing else going on.
 
So why didn’t she walk over to her friend? As Bon Bon was now, she would just keep sitting there instead of dancing with everyone. With her.
 
It’s not like she wanted her to dance with her personally. It was just… Bon Bon wouldn’t go all out, if she was alone. She knew the girl liked to dance, but she would be just all shy about it. If Lyra didn’t make her forget about the other people around them, by making her concentrate on her, Bon Bon would just keep sitting there.
 
Right. Boys.
 
It was about time, that someone started asking them out. And Bon Bon would probably love to have someone interested in her. Someone asking her to dance would never happen, if they saw Lyra hanging on to her. Even if Bon Bon would never admit to Lyra being the problem, Lyra knew, she herself was in her best friends way of happyness.
 
So where are they? Why didn’t any guy get near her friend? She looked super cute tonight. Just like always.
 
This was taking forever! And she wanted so much to dance with her.
 
But she couldn’t get in her way! The evening just started, they would come. And she wouldn’t ruin it all.  
It was probably just her overthinking, that made it seem to take so long. It… Why was everyone leaving? They can’t be going home. It was just… Five hours after the party started. … She looked where she saw Bon Bon sitting last time she looked.
 
And saw a very angry looking girl glaring at her. Yup, she is mad. She really should have asked Bon Bon to dance with her. The guys in her school clearly didn’t have any good taste in woman, even angry Bon Bon looked lovely.
