I think this could turn out to be a bit of a Spike/Rarity episode. Every season has it’s moments or entire episode based on them. Think about it:
 
Season 1: A Dog and Pony Show  
Season 2: Secret of My Excess  
Season 3: no whole episodes, but there were several Sparity moments, specifically the climax of The Crystal Empire, Part Two, and Spike at your Service  
Season 4: Inspiration Manifestation
 
And I have to think that if Rarity’s gonna really need a detective, she needs a partner…or maybe an assistant…never know..

I think I’m starting to understand what’s going on here; the only one who can prove Rainbow Dash’s innocence here is Rarity even though she has little to no experience as a crime detective.
