This is old, but I’m pretty sure Twilight went to outer space with Luna in the comics and was fine.

Well, that and those rules, at least going by the comics, don’t seem to matter as much. Walking from the planet to the moon on a rope, for example.
I guess that also counts for Twilight being able to breathe without air?
If wings allow the ability to stand on clouds, I’m sure they can allow a pony that big to lay on a planet and not cause major damage.
Or alternatively: “It’s magic, we don’t have to explain it.”
Realism aside, this is adorable.
