But asymmetrical wipes like this one are a lot less common, because they’re that much more powerful. Especially in this game: sparing one of your Friends doesn’t just give you a power advantage, it also lets you keep your secondary color (or colors) in play.

It would be the latter. And yeah, it is a boardwipe card (although you keep your manes obviously). These aren’t unheard of in ccgs.

When they say “Choose a Friend. Banish each other Friend”, do they mean choose one of your Friends and banish the rest, or choose any Friend in play and banish all of the others in play? If it’s the latter, isn’t that pretty much nuking the board mid-game?

Not a “type”, just a trait that some cards can have.

No idea if it’s just flavor or if there is a card that does something with cards having that trait yet.
