Lol, what’s really funny, is I’ve actually kind of taken up this challenge…
Also, you don’t have to code from scratch: Unity and Unreal are two examples of engines that are freely available.
Unreal asks for a 5% royalty is all. However, 5% of zero is still zero…. :p
cant say i agree with that rule. but im not the one who makes the rules so.
Well, if you haven’t been playing lately then you wouldn’t know. The moderators have been warning and kicking/banning players all over sharing skype information since 2 or 3 OSWs ago.
They don’t owe you anything, dude.
Also
>deny players the ability to be able to communicate outside of the game
Where are you getting this from? First I’ve heard of it.
Being disrespectful? I’m sitting here pointing out every flaw that should’ve been worked on a very long time ago as well as ideas that they could use to actually analyze true performance. I don’t hate the game, but to deny players the ability to be able to communicate outside of the game as well as to take as long to have a release stable enough to keep the servers open for a change while they make everyone wait, THAT’S being disrespectful to the player base who puts the word out about the game in the first place. We, the gamers, decide the fate of a game. We, the gamers, throw out our feedback to help see it be optimized and built upon. Don’t you dare take this as a bit of hate of the game as it’s negative yet constructive criticism that should be expected and actually put into consideration for future builds/releases.
if you dont like the game thats your opinion. no need to be disrespectfull to people who do. its just a silly pony game after all w
If I were to waste my life programming an MMO, I would use the fundamentals that I’ve gained and learned from other MMOs that I’ve played, not sit and build something from scratch with a third rate 3D rendering program and not knowing what I’m doing, and no, don’t sit and wait, because there’s no chance that I would ever enjoy something as boring as programming.
Volunteers or not, having the servers only be open for 2-3 days is pure BS. How can you calculate actual server payload and stability when it’s only open for such a short time? Plus only allowing a set number of players to be logged in (150 the last I knew) isn’t exactly a good way to test it once the server hits public mainstream (whenever the hay that will ever happen). Unconstrained tests need to be done with a no set player limit with servers being OPEN while maintaining and building on on another server system. Plus the whole no discussing skype rule is severely BS. A game based on friendship yet you can’t keep communications with those that you meet after servers close and have no other way to talk to let alone keep in touch with? Irony in a nutshell.
I’m sorry BP, let’s see you code an MMO from scratch, in your spare time, and release it for the internet to play free of charge, without bugs and in a timely fashion. You are clearly much better at it than they are, after all. Then we’ll all log into your game and play and enjoy it and compliment you on how amazing it is.
I’ll wait.
The quest lines are a lame run around between areas, the mobs are over powered, the leveling system is a joke since in traditional MMO’s you go from 1 to 2 after some actual effort, not 1 to 4 with a 3 hour run around and waiting for a freaking lone NPC to have proper dialogs for one of the quests. The devs could’ve spent time actually fixing the key bindings, adding map, NPC markers on the minimap, have the quest/data book actually do it’s job, remove the shine on just about everything, and then some. I’m losing faith in the game and quickly, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up getting cancelled because of how long they are taking with it. If they were smart, they wouldn’t use lousy Unity but actually use a proper launcher program to do updates and to run the main program (wait, what’s that? keeping the servers up all the time while we make patches? IDEA!) I would be far more content not using 3D models, but 3D rendered 2D sprites like nearly every other MMO uses for their game. Maybe the game owners/creators/devs should actually play a real MMO and see just how much nicer and less laggy things are instead of building one that is of sub par level.
well it is run completely by volunteers. no pay involved. so its a bit unorganized and slow. We are trying out best though, we aren’t exactly pro.
nope no alicorns
I don’t believe there are actually any alicorns in the game.
i suspect only admins can play as alicorns.
because admins always need something that shows they are more special then you.
They have at least fixed the chat system now, it works like you’d expect it to.
Also the new armors and leveling system are there, but you can tell it’s pretty much a placeholder to show off the system than final data.
Also, they added socks.
let me, is the game stable now ?
last time i played it only had open for a few hours at a time.
all i did was fly around, which got boring fast..
the chat system was garbage.
