I think this particular one is a fake, given it’s identical to G3’s Scootaloo’s mark and has nothing to do with what we already figure her talent is, but it likely indicates that one is definitely coming.

Notice if you put this right on top of Scootaloo’s flank silhouette in the poster, it matches up perfectly. Same with Sweetie Belle’s.
 
They’re definitely getting them this season, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it only ends up being in the theorized “alternate time-line” season finale so that way they’ll still be blank flanks at the end.

Unlike Sweetie Belles, I don’t think Scooting is nebulous enough that this works at all, If this is really what they’ll be going with just for the sake of cross generational references that’s dumb. Like MAYBE it can be justified with her fluttering to power her scooting but that’s really stretching it.

It’s looks exactly same. While Mane6 (and their parents, etc) have different Cutie Marks than their namesakes and counterparts from G1 & G3.

I don’t see how a butterfly cutie mark equals flightless chickens. Monarch butterflies go on an epic journey for thousands of miles, just to get to their destination.
