Ah, I love reading back into the comments on these. "Oh, I'm a *media arts student*, and my *media arts instructors* agree with *me* that this is lazy", or "Being cruel is easy, but it takes strength to be kind".

Grasping at anything to give their dislike of the subject matter more relevance and authority. Nobody cares about your shitty media arts college or your high-minded ethics. The piece conveys what it wants to convey without extraneous effort or wasting time; it's ABOUT the abuse and tragedy. If I wanted to see something about everyone laughing and hugging and overcoming weaknesses, I'd go fucking go look it up. And it doesn't need to be a god damn masterpiece that took months to animate and pushes the boundaries of the art world. It's a fluffy pony animation, it's already limited in it's reach inherently.
