It’s possible that BESIDES her kick power the Nightmare could manipulate her abilities to something else.
It could also manipulate her emotions by destroying any confidence AJ has.
That’s just my theory.
She’s an earth pony with no magic whatsoever and her skills amount to “kick things”. At least Rarity has Unicorn magic on her side for if she were to be corrupted, the most you’d get with an angry evil earth pony is property damage.
not to mention applejack as the absolute least mental weaknesses and immoralities of the mane six and is the most level headed. Even fluttershy has a weakness that could be exploited for her to turn evil in her many emotional insecurities and mental imbalances at times.
It’s as bad as the stupid “Applejack is background pony”.
… Ughhh.
Probably makes it worse that it’s one of those “AJ DOESN’T DO ANYTHING EXCEPT APPULS”.
YMMV, I guess. I prefer the story the way it is.
While I can certainly understand that stance, the problem is that the premise seems to… well, big, to work satisfactorily in a One Shot.
If you ask me, I prefer one-shots over long stories, because I get bored reading stories that goes on for a long period of time.
I was promptly disappointed by the fact that this absolutely Epic idea was limited to a comedy One Shot.
