Description

Here’s a little project I have been working on for some time and I’m quite pleased how it turned out.
I wanted to make a scene from 1980’s Romania where Dash got herself one of of the Sport models of the Dacia 1310. The old photo effect took some extra efforts but the result sure looks fine, it really makes it look authentic!
And the text on the photo says “In front of the apartment building with the new car, April 4th 1985”.

yep, but it’s still a sub-brand of renault since they basically always made renaults under license. like Vauxhaull making Opels.

hell yeah, the Duster is certainly the most popular 4WD here in France, it’s cheap, reliable; and inexpensive, the car that gets the job done, never had one like that since the Renault 4L.

Oh, two models, damn, I think I’m wrong, this is correctly a 1310 Sport, as I can see the second image, it is 100% match to the one on your drawing, my bad, slapping back the 1310 Sport tag back now… :P

Thanks, but actually we’re both right :P
There were multiple versions of the Dacia Sport built. In 1979 there were two models:
  • Dacia 1310 Sport, with a 1289 cm³ engine, with 54 horse power,
  • Dacia 1410 Sport, with a 1397 cm³ engine, with 65 horse power.
Then between 1981-1985 there some modeles with shorter doors, and between 1986-1992 models with longer doors.
They looked virtually identical, the only diference being the a small tag on the back, like here: full full
The “1410 Sport” version was produced in smaller numbers at first, and only towards the end of the Sport series did they start poping up more.
But most people know the coupe model as the “1310 Sport” because of how closely it looks to the 1310 sedan model.

Nice man, but I’m pretty sure that the coupe versions of the Dacia 1310 is not really called as the “1310 Sport”, but a “1410 Sport”, just fixed the tags for ya’.

Models based on the old Dacia 1300 are no longer manufactured. Yet Dacia as a brand still exists and is quite popular! Here’s Dacia’s newest model for example: full

You are mistaken. Romania was not part of the Soviet Union, it was part of the Warsaw Pact. And no, we didn’t have that thing of waiting years to buy a car. You could get a car if you saved up money for a few months. You’re probably thinking of East Germany where you had to wait 5-6-7 years to get a bucket-ass Trabant.

Not all of them will have a Dacia. Let’s just say that 3 of the Mane6 will have a Dacia model, the other 3 will have some other car brand. More or less I have an idea of what car each of them will have and why.
