Ok, so, trouble happens because rampaging something big. Friendship and magic and other stuff is tried but it isn’t working and Spike is trying to get everyone to listen to what he’s saying, but they are too busy panicking to listen to “the silly little dragon”.

Eventually it culminates in Spike growing mad and “wanting” so badly that we get Spikezilla back. Spikezilla isn’t “clever”, but he identifies friend from foe and we get a nice big daikaiju wrestling match.

It ends with Spikezilla removing painful mc’guffin from the raging monster, who turns into a passive monster, and after Rarity flags him down with the fire ruby, Spike returns to normal before explaining that, had everyone LISTENED to him instead of panicking and just trying to do what was done for previous problems, they would have fixed this issue a whole lot sooner.

Lesson is to actually listen to all options before jumping to your own conclusion.

It’s a glorified episode long “vs the manticore” script, but it’s an excuse for some amusing action. It’s not like a lot of the episodes skimp on a “lesson”, or restate an older one with a different definition.

Oh god…I need them to make an episode about Spike growing gigantic to fight off a giant monster that isn’t affected by the power of friendship. Extra points if the enemy is some sort of mutated hydra that grows wings.

I swear, if they make an episode like this, and they do it well (meaning, good humor but letting Spike save the day and learn a strong moral either about overcoming your fear or about believing in yourself), then…
…I’d be able to die a happy man.
