That’s more like it.
I played Orks when I first picked my screen name. I still have them, but haven’t played them in forever. I still love ‘em though, anyone who doesn’t get a kick out of Orks is a terribly dull person.
Or an Ultrasmurf.
Haha, you’ve finally answered that question for me after so many years. I love you forever.
You know how when you select them they sometimes say “Hold on to da pin. Throw da uvvah part.”? What you’re hearing is the follow-up: “Hahaha! Don’ hold on to tha’ end of it!”.
My favorite Ork quote of all time is one I can’t even understand. It’s the Tankbusta from Dawn of War 1. It just sounds like a bunch of laughing and incredibly thick cockney speak.
Quite literally, at that. Also, they get some of the best quotes. Like this one from DoW 2: Retribution: “I gots Eldar blood all ovah me. …IT’S SO SHINY!”
Everywun knows green iz best! Orkz is made for foightin’ an’ winnin’!
Yeah, dem Eldar is real shooty but dey ain’t fo’ much in a propah scrap. Dey jes’ come apart in yer ‘ands. (I’ve been playing way to much Dawn of War as of late.)
I still contend that 3D printing is the best thing to happen to tabletop gaming in a long time. As they become more commonplace we’ll see more printed models, which means you won’t have to shell out a fucking arm and and a leg to afford a starter army.
I love 40k, but GW charges waaaaaaay too much for its figures.
Well, my new force is okay there….
Biel-Tan Eldar.
(I have got a reasonable force of Evil Sunz Orks too)
Wot kinda Boss is you dat don’t know Green iz best?
At least the Dark Eldar have some cool models though. (The newer stuff at least).
It’s been a long time since GW came up with a new faction for 40k.
Trouble is, a new force would have to be something completely different from the other races, or would have to employ different tactics. (I have done my own army, and the tactics they employ completely throw other players until they figure out how they work).
Of course, GW need to try and get a better balance with the existing armies first. Plus, with their ridiculous prices players are often put off trying a new force anyway.
I recently started a new Biel-Tan Eldar army, (I already have an immense force of Eldar anyway, which have my own colour scheme and background). The local club is selling off their stock, and the owner is just keeping it going as a club for the time being. The sets they have left they’re selling off at half price, so I bought the 2 sets of guardians and the only pack of wraithblades they had. Got myself a Fire Prism from the GW store in Blackpool, and I’m hoping to get a farseer and a jetbike squad from the Manchester store friday.
An idea on prices
£22.50 for the guardians (Should be £45)
£31 for the fire prism
£15 for the wraithblades (they were on discount, not half price when I got those)
£25 for the jetbikes
and around £11 for the farseer.
£104.50 for a small skirmish force.
Compared to some hobbies, that’s not really that bad. (Try looking at keeping a remote control car going).
Eww, Dark Eldar. The most unnecessary addition to the WH40k universe since the Tau. At least the Tau have some personality. The Dark Eldar are just evil and edgy as fuck for the sake of being evil and edgy as fuck.
(Dark Eldar master race)
