I was doing example ponies for the wiki over at Fillydelphia.com and I was drawing Sunset Shimmer for unicorns (probably going to do Rarity and Trixie, too) and I started to think about a friend of mine and some things theyd said, so I did this up for them.
I usually hate ponies as mouthpieces and such, but I know some people need to hear this now and again (myself included) and besides it was that characters lesson in the actual series, so yeah.

Yeah basically this.
Killing is an exceedingly divisive topic and any meaningful discussion of it would take far more space, attention, patience, time, and rational thought than the human race has to spare.
It may be more socially acceptable, though it really depends on their motive. And two wrongs don’t make a right, after all. In “Inglorious Basterds”, for instance, just because they kill Hitler (a bad person, obviously) doesn’t make them good guys.

What if they murdered someone that was an actual bad person though, that sounds forgivable to me.
